• Attend your local school board meeting

• Learn the names of your local and state school board members

• Read about how cuts to the Department of Education is affecting state funding and your local school district

• Learn about your local and state school board members:

  • What is their voting record on important issues?

  • What appear to be their priorities? 

• Write letters of encouragement or concern to board members

• Talk to at least two family members, friends or neighbors about educational issues facing your community

• Talk to local administrators about how you can support them, then do it

• Write letters of support or concern to your local paper

• Speak words of encouragement or concern at a local board meeting

• Run for school board!
